Glotolici: an atlas of demonyms and language names

Glotolici groups documented relationships between territories, demonyms, languages and language names.
When do a people and a language share a name? Glotolici is an exploratory worldwide visualization of the relationships between demonyms, language names, territories and languages. It is a complete adaptation of my Area visualization software and runs entirely in the browser.
The atlas contains 428 documented territory–language cases, covering 196 territory codes and 218 language codes. In the Catalan dataset, 123 cases (28.7%) use the same form for the demonym and the language name, while 305 use different forms.
Cases can be grouped and coloured by different dimensions, searched, and filtered by continent, name match and certainty. Every view is reproducible through its URL, making a particular selection easy to share. The interface is available in Catalan and English.
About the data
This is an exploratory dataset. Some values are explicitly marked as doubtful or pending further research. A case represents a territory–language relationship rather than necessarily a sovereign state, so the collection also includes autonomous territories, regions and peoples.
