Area is a visualization tool that allows simultaneous exploration and search of collections of documents.  Area is a low cost visualization tool that is easy to implement, and which can be used with large collections of documents.

I present here a representation of about 500 papers published in the open access journal Information Research. The representation gives an overview of the journal and invites visitors to explore them.
